The TAHCI team provides a vast range services in the context of heritage conservation and management services. Our team includes conservators, scientists, archaeologists, site managers, archivists, and researchers which helps us deliver our strategic objectives everywhere in Africa.

TAHCI comprises of competent staff with many years of experience to help state parties develop state of the art management plans for the effective conservation of World Heritage site depending on the typology of World Heritage and national contexts.

In this thematic area, our office offers the following services;

• 1. Development of maps which delineate the building attributes and relations on site in CAD.
• 2. In event of threats to site, we record buildings, monuments and structures of all kinds.
• 3. We assist State Parties in developing evaluation reports which includes the documentation and evaluation of the built heritage which are of historical interest from point of view of nation states.
• 4. We engage in research which includes the detailing the historical overview of properties, its community and their documented and oral history.

With our immense academic and practical experience knowledge of the UNESCO World Heritage processes, we;

• 1. Focus and follow the Operational Guidelines in the development of the nomination dossiers.
• 2. Establish the methodology for the process of the selection, define and carry out research, proposing an integral solution for the whole.
• 3. Provide practical skills and theoretical knowledge needed to help State Parties identify, protect, manage and present cultural and natural heritage sites.
• 4. We combine theory and practice in a cross-sectorial way, by emphasizing the link between culture and nature, tangible and intangible heritage values, nomination dossier development.
• We therefore help countries in establishing coherent proposals that have a high chance of getting accepted by the World Heritage Committee.

TAHCI provides Heritage Impact Assessment in event of developments across the power / renewable energy, mining, infrastructure, industry, oil & gas, and built environment sectors. TAHCI team works with the community in the various context to identify potential heritage, environmental and social risks/impacts, and develop strategies that mitigate, avoid, reduce or compensate for the potential impacts and risks.

With the team of experts, TAHCI offer range of research based strategic services to state parties in areas of;

• 1. Climate impact assessment.
• 2. Vulnerability assessment.
• 3. Adaptation development.
• 4. Operationalizing of adaptive capacity for sustainable value-based conservation.

We are actively involved in capacity building activities across a broad spectra of World Heritage management. This includes services in the areas of community engagement, public education and awareness raising. Also, we provide services to schools for the development of educational curricula and programs, and provisioning of interactive electronic teaching tools. We collaborate with international institutions to deliver state-of-the-art capacity building and awareness raising. Our capacity building services includes;

• 1. Highlighting and explaining the important and key World Heritage concepts.
• 2. Providing a state of the art understanding of World Heritage nomination system.
• 3. Simplifying the Operational Guidelines and raising awareness about its importance for World Heritage discourses.
• 4. Emphasizing the importance of community involvement in World Heritage management.
• 4. Training of community member on the importance of traditional conservation in world heritage management.
